Artist's Comments

Yesterday was my grandfathers birthday. He would've become eighty, he never made it as he passed away January this year. He was a painter himself, and I wanted just to draw something to remember him by. He always drew landscapes which were very detailed and beautiful, and the watercolours I have now where his. He was never concious when i received them a week before his death.
I like to remember him as a painter and a very talkative man, and not like he was last .
The magpy is for my grandmother, she likes birds, she can't appreaciate much else now, but still likes to watch birds.

I'm really sorry to hear that about your grandpa.
And I think it's really touching that you painted this. It's really beautiful!

Pleased to meet you, hope you guess my name.
But what's puzzling you is the nature of my game.

The painting itself is so lovely; very simple looking (deceptively so, I'm sure!) and yet detailed. It is so beautiful.

Once I read your story about it, I realized why it also seems a little bit sad. This is such a lovely tribute to your grandparents.

It's wonderful sweety, and I'm very sure he would've been prowd to know you made it for him. I really hope your grandma doesn't have too bad a time where she lives now...

Op woorden kan ik vliegen,
Waar dan ook naartoe,
Realiteit even bedriegen,
Is het liefste dat ik doe

To know the story behind a painting always make the spectator understand and appreciate the painting more :)

- It is as probable for a tornado raging through a junkjard to produce Buchingham Palace, that for life to emerge from the big bang. But emerge it did.

- Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.

This painting is just beautiful and full of emotions.
People can feel the feeling in this paint.
It's just so simple and full of love.
I really admire the way you paint, because everything you paint is not plain,
it's full of feelings as well as of emotions.

Sorry for the lost.
Am sure he will be every proud of you.
